Murder Mystery Birthday Bash

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

My wonderful wife hosted a murder mystery dinner party for my birthday. The theme was 1950′s, and we assigned all of our friends a character to dress up as. They all came in character and everybody looked fabulous. Knowing this, my friend Steve and I set up a white seamless background in my garage, and a couple of Elinchrom 500 BXRi lights for a studio set up. I was trying to go for a photo booth/fashion style-isque set up. I’m very happy with the results! I think I’m addicted to studio set ups now.

The Asian mafia is present.

The beautiful starring ladies!

Thanks everyone for such a memorial birthday!  They all pitched in for a gigantic Amazon gift card so I can purchase a Epson Perfection V700 Film Scanner to scan all my film from my Hasselblad.  You guys and gals rock!!

Senior – Phoebe

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Phoebe is so sweet!  Her smile and personality lights up the world.  She is currently a senior at Benson and an avid volunteer in her community.  On the morning of the shoot, she woke up at 5:30am to help direct traffic for an event!  It’s December, so it was about 30 or so degrees in the morning.  During the shoot, it couldn’t have been more than 40 degrees, but she held up her smile like a trooper.

Turned out the only one complaining was myself.  Oh the shame.  In my defense, it was REALLY cold!

I love the Totoro hoodie, so awesome.

We walked back outside from the cafeteria and found some gorgeous light.  I seriously could not have asked for anything more amazing than the setting, the background, and the quality of light.  Of course, Phoebe rocked it.

Thanks again for an awesome time and the holiday goodies!  Can’t wait to dig into them Christmas day :D
